In an area rich in fertile soils, the economy is centred on the agricultural, craftsmanship and commercial sectors. Craftsmanship, in particular, represents one of the key sectors for the Mogoro working community. Textile art is renowned chiefly for its tapestries and carpets; woodwork is traditionally handed down since entire generations, especially in chests and rustic furniture manufacturing; artistic ceramics is characterised by delicately coloured decorations.
The thriving wine-making industry is represented by the winery Cantina Sociale “Il Nuraghe” foundated in 1956, located at km 62 of the State Road No.131.
The expertise acquired by its over 800 partners has produced now worldwide famous D.O.C. wines. Among the most valued local species of vine are Monica, Nuragus, Vermentino, Cannonau, but also the unique and precious white Semidàno. Visits to the winery should be fixed in advance and are meant for groups.
Mogoro, like other villages of Marmilla, is experiencing an increase in cultural tourism, including archeaological and religious itineraries.
