About 80 Sardinian firms display their products at the Fair. They have to undergo a previous demanding selection by a Committee of experts, aimed at keeping the quality of the most important handicraft exhibition up to the highest standards. Still today, as back in 1961, when the fair of Mogoro was born, experts of textile art - several ladies, the cooperative Su Trobasciu and other ones - keep on producing remarkable tapestries and carpets with characteristic patterns and colours of Marmilla. But there are also artisans of wood, wrought iron, colourful ceramics, mirrors and lamps, baskets, Sardinian knives, gold and silver jewels.
Since 2000, the carpet fair of Mogoro has been hosting agroindustrial goods, too: typical bread, sweets and cheese - often available as biological products. For gourmets and sommeliers’ pleasure, a wide choice of DOC wines by ‘Il Nuraghe’ winery is offered, besides mullet bottarga locally produced by Blue Marlin.
Recently introduced, but already popular at the exhibition are jewels made of obsidian and gold. Also, paintings made on various materials depict foreshortened views of architecture and life scenes in Marmilla.
